Honest pricing
Where a job can be priced up front, it is — set before we arrive, not after. Where it genuinely depends on what we find, we quote once we have seen the work, because a number given any earlier is a guess.
One team for both trades
Maintenance and construction under one roof, so the people who build it are the people you call afterwards.
Tell us about your Glazing job
Send us the details and we will come out, look at the work, and quote it. No Glazing job is priced from a phone call, because a number given before we have seen it is a guess.
Common glazing questions
What does glazing mean?
Glazing means the glass installed in a window, door, or other framed opening. Glazing work can include replacing broken panes, failed sealed units, or other damaged glass without necessarily replacing the entire window or door.
Should I repair a broken window or replace the whole thing?
Replacing only the glass may be practical when the frame and surrounding window are still in good condition. Full replacement may make more sense when the frame is damaged, badly deteriorated, leaking, or no longer operating properly. We inspect the window before recommending either option.
Why has my double-glazed window gone foggy inside?
Fogging between the panes usually means the seal around the insulated glass unit has failed. Once moisture gets between the panes, it cannot be wiped away from either side. The glass unit usually needs to be replaced to restore a clear sealed window.
Can a foggy sealed unit be fixed without replacing the window?
Yes, the sealed glass unit can often be replaced without replacing the entire window frame. That works when the frame, sash, and surrounding components are still in good condition. We would need to inspect the existing window and measure the glass before quoting the work.
How long do windows normally last?
Many windows last 20 years or more, but the frame material and exposure to weather matter most. Drafts, failed seals, difficult operation, water intrusion, or deteriorating frames are better reasons to consider replacement than age alone.
Will new windows actually lower my heating bill?
New windows can reduce heat loss when the existing windows are drafty, poorly sealed, or inefficient. They will not fix every source of heat loss in the home, so the savings depend on how much of the problem is actually coming from the windows.
Can you match windows in an older or historic house?
We can custom-match many regular windows in older homes, including non-standard sizes. We do not work on specialty glass. Leaded, stained, and decorative glass should be handled by a specialist.
How quickly can a broken window be made safe?
We provide temporary board-ups to make broken windows safe. We aim to attend emergencies within 24 hours and other requests within 48 hours. The time needed for permanent glass replacement depends on whether the correct size is in stock or must be ordered.
